Privacy Policy

How Brihzoh Hub (brihzoh.com) collects, uses and protects personal information across Radio, Marketplace, Blog, Payments and our other services.

Operated under the trading name Brihzoh Tech Solutions · Last updated: 6 November 2026

Under review: the Information Officer registration with the Information Regulator still requires confirmation before this policy is finalised. Approved retention periods are not yet enforced automatically.

1. Information we collect

Depending on which parts of Brihzoh Hub you use, we may collect:

  • Information you give us: names, display names, email addresses, telephone and WhatsApp numbers, messages, song requests, comments, advert details and photos, blog articles, writer biographies and payment references or proof-of-payment files.
  • Account information: if you create an account, your email address and a securely handled password.
  • Usage information: anonymous counts of views, shares, likes, votes and contact-button clicks. Some of these are linked to a random code stored in your browser, not to your name.
  • Analytics information (only with your consent): pages and sections visited, general traffic source and device type, collected through Google Analytics on brihzoh.com.
  • Location information you choose to provide: for example the town or area entered on a Marketplace advert.

We do not ask for banking passwords, PINs or card numbers, and you should never send them to us.

2. How personal information is used

  • To run the services you ask for: playing the radio, showing messages and shout-outs, publishing approved adverts and articles, and processing payments.
  • To review and moderate submissions before they are made public.
  • To contact you about your submission, advert, article or payment, for example by WhatsApp or email.
  • To protect the website from spam, abuse and misuse, including usage limits on certain features.
  • To understand, in aggregate, which parts of the website are used so we can improve them.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

Brihzoh Hub uses browser storage (such as cookies and local storage) for:

  • Essential functions: keeping you signed in, remembering your privacy choices, radio player settings and display preferences.
  • Anonymous counters: a random browser code used to count likes, votes and views fairly. This code is not shown publicly.
  • Analytics (optional): Google Analytics cookies are set only after you accept analytics.
  • Advertising (optional): if advertising is switched on in future, Google advertising cookies will be used only in line with your consent choices.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Some features, such as staying signed in, may not work without them.

4. Google AdSense and third-party advertising

Brihzoh Hub may display advertisements supplied by Google AdSense. Advertising is controlled by the site administrator and is currently not switched on; when it is off, no Google advertising code is loaded on our pages.

If advertising is enabled, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, measure and personalise advertisements, subject to applicable consent and privacy requirements. Ads are never shown on admin, sign-in, payment, writer-submission or advert-creation pages.

Google AdSense advertising is separate from Brihzoh's own Featured Adverts and Marketplace listings, which are submitted by local advertisers and reviewed by Brihzoh.

5. Personalised and non-personalised advertisements

Personalised ads use information such as cookies to show ads relevant to your interests. Non-personalised ads rely on general context, such as the page you are viewing and your approximate location, and may still use cookies for frequency capping, reporting and fraud prevention.

When advertising is switched on, Brihzoh asks every visitor first. If you choose "Allow ads", Google ads may load only when all applicable consent and legal requirements are met, and may be personalised where permitted. If you choose "No thanks", no Google AdSense code loads and no Google ads are shown. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, advertising consent stays denied by default even after "Allow ads" until you also make a choice in Google's own consent message, which may offer further options, including non-personalised ads.

Current status: advertising is switched off on Brihzoh Hub. No Google ads are currently shown.

6. How Google and advertising partners may use cookies or identifiers

Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to Brihzoh Hub and other sites on the internet.

Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/ads. You can manage personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.

8. Marketplace advertisements and public comments

Advertising on Brihzoh, including Marketplace listings and paid advertising packages, is only for people aged 18 or older. Advertisers are asked to confirm their age when submitting. Browsing the website has no age restriction.

When you submit a Marketplace or Featured Advert, we collect your name, contact numbers, optional email, advert details, location and photos. Adverts are reviewed before publication.

  • Published adverts show the title, description, price, general location, photos and display name. Your telephone number is not displayed; your WhatsApp number is used to open a chat when a customer taps the contact button.
  • For rental listings, only an approximate area is shown publicly — not the exact street address.
  • Advert photos are stored privately and are shown only while the advert is published.
  • Comments, names and ratings you post on adverts are public. Do not include private information in them.

9. Radio station messages, shout-outs and song requests

Messages, shout-outs, compliments and song requests submitted to Brihzoh Radio Station, together with the name you give, may be displayed publicly on the website and read on air. Replies may also be public. Please do not include passwords, banking details, private contact information or other sensitive information.

10. Blog submissions and writer accounts

  • When you submit an article, we collect your name, email, the article, an optional image, optional contact number and optional biography.
  • Every article is reviewed by a Brihzoh administrator before publication. Only approved articles are public, together with the author name and biography you choose to share.
  • Your email and contact number are used only to communicate with you about your submission and are not published.
  • Unpublished drafts are visible only to their writer and administrators. Writers whose access is suspended lose access to unpublished articles.

11. User accounts and authentication

Some features, such as writer accounts, administration and the AI message-polishing tool, require you to sign in with an email address and password. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to Brihzoh staff. Administrator permissions are checked on our servers and cannot be granted by changing anything in your browser.

12. Payments and payment proofs

Brihzoh does not process card payments on this website. Payments are made by EFT, bank deposit or cash. When you submit a payment, we collect your name, contact details, payment reference, the bank account you paid into and your proof-of-payment file.

  • Proof-of-payment files are stored privately and can be viewed only by authorised administrators through short-lived secure links.
  • Payments are verified manually. Every status change is recorded in an audit history.

13. Data security and access controls

We use reasonable technical measures, including:

  • Database access rules that limit each record to the people allowed to see it.
  • Private file storage for payment proofs, advert photos and blog media.
  • Server-side administrator checks for all management functions.
  • Spam protection and usage limits on public forms and paid services.
  • Encrypted (HTTPS) connections to the website.

No online system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your information has been compromised, please contact us.

14. Data retention and deletion

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, or as long as the law requires. This is how the website currently handles each type of record:

  • Featured Adverts (radio advertising flyers): removed automatically, with their images, 30 days after posting.
  • Marketplace adverts: taken off the public site automatically when their advertising period ends. The record is kept for our administration until an administrator deletes it.
  • Advert comments: kept until an administrator removes them.
  • Radio messages, shout-outs, song requests and replies: kept until an administrator removes them.
  • Blog articles and submissions: removed articles are hidden from the public immediately and kept in our editorial records. Contact details sent with a submission are kept with the article.
  • Payment records and proofs of payment: kept as financial records. Tax and financial laws may require us to keep payment records for a number of years.
  • Accounts: kept until you ask us to delete them.
  • Radio playback diagnostics: if you accept analytics, the player sends anonymous daily totals (buffering, reconnections, recovery time, a short error type and whether the device is a phone or computer). No identifiers, IP addresses or locations are stored. Approved retention: 90 days; the admin view shows only the last 90 days, and older totals are not yet deleted automatically.
  • Push notification registrations: removed automatically when a device stops accepting notifications.

Approved retention policy — automatic cleanup not yet in operation. The administrator has approved the retention periods below. The automatic cleanup features that would enforce them have not yet been built, tested or switched on. Until they are, records are handled as described above (including manual deletion by an administrator), and no automatic deletion is claimed for these categories.

  • Payment records and proofs of payment: 5 years, or longer where required by law, an audit, an investigation or an unresolved dispute.
  • Radio messages, shout-outs, song requests and replies: 12 months.
  • Advert comments: 12 months after the associated advert expires.
  • Expired Marketplace adverts: 12 months after expiry.
  • Rejected Blog submissions and the associated writer contact details: 12 months.
  • Published Blog articles: kept while published, subject to applicable privacy and legal requirements.
  • Inactive user accounts: 24 months of inactivity, with advance notice before deletion.

You may ask us to delete your information at any time using the contact details below. We will do so unless the law requires us to keep it.

15. External websites and third-party services

Brihzoh Hub links to and uses third-party services, each with its own privacy policy. These include:

  • Zeno.FM (radio streaming) and the Radio ZA app.
  • WhatsApp, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube.
  • Google services such as Analytics, AdSense, Maps, Drive and Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications).
  • Separate Brihzoh apps, including Brihzoh Bible, Invoice Maker and Brihzoh Hub Games, which open in new tabs.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites.

16. Children's privacy

Brihzoh Hub is a general-audience website and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

17. Your privacy rights

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) in South Africa, and the GDPR where it applies, you may have the right to:

  • Ask whether we hold personal information about you and request a copy.
  • Ask us to correct, update or delete your information.
  • Object to or withdraw consent for certain processing, including analytics and advertising.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa, or your local data protection authority.
